Dale McIsaac grew up in Mermaid, PEI in a large farm family. He is the ninth of ten children born to Leo and Mary McIsaac. Dale has been a lifelong educator. Over the past 30 years, he has taught in nine schools, had been a principal for all 13 grades and coached 125 teams. He completed his PhD in educational leadership in 2015. In 2016 he published a collection of essays that shared memories from his childhood. Entitled “The Porridge Is Up”, this book has received rave reviews and became the jumping off point for his many speaking appearances. He has been a featured storyteller in the Festival of Small Halls, the Frank Ledwell Storytelling festival and a number of other private and public fundraising events. When not teaching and writing, he can be found fly fishing on the Morell or Miramichi rivers!
