Sechile Sedare is a Contemporary Roots/Folk songwriter duo based in Edmonton AB/ Yellowknife NWT. Made up of siblings Leela and Jay Gilday, Sechile Sedare (pronounced ’say-chill-ay’’say-dar-eh’) means ‘younger brother older sider’ in the Dene language. This musical collaboration sees Jay and Leela co-write and co-create new repertoire together, harnessing their talents as deeply insightful and genuine storytellers. Their songs share stories about their family history and their connection to the land.
