GAMMONS & KNORR

The Canadian fiddling world is vast and colourful, a mosaic of European and Indigenous influences. Generations of people created the unique styles that echo the drama of the landscapes that contain them. This is the image that guitarist Tom Gammons and fiddle Ray Knorr want to paint for their audiences.

Both musicians were raised in the traditional music scene of Western Canada. Tom is from Montana, yet he found most of his inspiration in his yearly trips to a music camp in Southeast Saskatchewan. Ray grew up in Regina, attending fiddle camps and competitions. Each of them ended up following their passions to Prince Edward Island.

Over their first summer living together on PEI, they learned, wrote, and arranged their debut EP “Bird’s Eye”. Released in April 2025, it takes inspiration from Métis, Québécois, Acadian, Old Time and Scottish styles.
