MAUKIN
Maukin is an energetic folk collective from Prince Edward Island, drawing on the cultural and musical traditions of their home province to create a unique and imaginative new sound. Rowen Gallant (fiddle) and Nick vanOuwerkerk (Pipes/Whistles), combine their roots in Irish, Scottish and Acadian music to deliver tunes and songs that are brought to life through bold arrangements and accompaniment by Jesse Périard (Guitar) and Caleb Gallant (Bodhran/Percussion).
Previously touring and recording as the highly acclaimed trio Ten Strings and a Goatskin, Périard and the brothers Gallant have joined forces with award-winning piper and whistle player vanOuwerkerk to once again explore the borders of traditional music in the Eastern Canadian region.
