Northern Lights

Northern Lights: Reimagining the Canadian Songbook takes a fresh look at Canada’s rich musical tapestry through the eyes of five powerhouse vocalists backed by a 4pc band, a string quartet, and joined by special guests. The all woman / non- binary cast presents an evening of iconic Canadian songs, some hidden gems, and an opportunity to discover your next favourite!
Audiences are treated to breathtaking renditions of Cohen’s “Hallelujah” and Alanis Morissette’s “You Oughta Know,” alongside original compositions by the artists on stage such as Blanchard’s ethereal “Like the Universe” and Toner’s widescreen pop-rock anthem “Have it All”. They pay tribute to influential artists Buffy Sainte-Marie and Joni Mitchell, with standout performances of “Little Wheel Spin and Spin” and “A Case of You.” Lisa Leblanc’s “La Poudre Aux Yeux,” adds Francophone flair, while Neil Young’s “Old Man” resonates with timeless wisdom.
The evening climaxes in the powerful, heartfelt anthem, “You’re Not Alone,” reminding us of the strength, connection, and hope music brings. Don’t miss this extraordinary celebration of the great Canadian songbook!
