Ray Knorr grew up in Regina, Saskatchewan playing Canadian Old Time and Métis fiddle in his family band and competing in competitions across Western Canada. Ray was exposed to a diversity of music outside of fiddle, playing guitar, bass guitar, viola and singing choral music. Travelling across Canada for festivals, camps and competitions introduced him to many additional fiddle styles, and he now draws influences from French Canadian, Irish, Cape Breton, Scottish, and American Old Time. Having moved to PEI three years ago, Ray performs with various groups around the Maritimes and is valued as a workshop instructor and studio musician.
