Fast feet and fiery fiddle is on the menu for this Summerside Saturday Night!
Encore Dance is a new performance group from PEI that shines a spotlight on Island step dancing. Led by Juliette Roberts, this group of award-winning dancers have performed at venues like Harbourfront Theatre and The Confederation Center of the Arts, alongside Maritime legends Heather Rankin and The Barra MacNeil’s. Joining them is special guest Cameron Francis (‘the fastest feet on the island’) who returns to Small Halls after many years dancing with the festival as a kid. They’ll be backed by top notch trad duo Jake Charron (The East Pointers) and Nick van Ouwerkerk (Maukin). Taking the stage for act 2 is Shane Cook & The Woodchippers. Led by Canadian and US National fiddle champion Shane Cook, the group has toured across the US, Scotland, Germany and Canada. The Canadian Folk Music award nominated trio features Joe Phillips on vocals an double bass, and 5-time National step dance champion Kyle Waymouth on guitar and tenor banjo. Grab your spot!
