In his hometown, Tracadie’s Shane Pendergast hosts a sensuous Saturday night with Small Halls. One of Atlantic Canada’s finest folk troubadours, Shane has appeared at folk festivals far and wide like Celtic Colours, Summerfolk, with our partner festival Small Halls Australia and home again. Fellow Atlantic Canadian songstress Nico Paulo joins us from Newfoundland. The Portuguese-Canadian was longlisted for the Polaris Music Prize for her debut album in 2023 and called ‘your new favorite vocalist’ from MTV. Open-hearted songwriting with enchanting delivery, Paolo has become essential to the Newfoundland music scene. Headlining the night is The Fretless; an electrifying foursome redefining what a string quartet can be. With multiple Canadian Folk Music Awards to their name, this ensemble has toured extensively across Europe, North & South America and Australia, wowing with their contemporary twist on traditional music.
